There are several laws which aim to enable decision making and protect the rights of vulnerable adults, including people with dementia. These are the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000; the Mental Health (Care & Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003; and the Adult Support & Protection (Scotland) Act 2007.
