Living well with dementia
Dementia can affect all aspects of a person's life, as well as those around them. With the right care, information and support when you need it, many people can, and do, live well with dementia for several years. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask for it - from family and friends, professionals such as doctors, nurses, and social workers, and charities like Alzheimer Scotland.
We have a range of information leaflets, supports and products which can help support you, your friends and your family.
Alternatively, Alzheimer Scotland hosts various workshops locally, which provide you with information on how to:
- Manage symptoms
- Find practical solutions to any difficulties you are experiencing
- Cope with money and legal issues
- Manage stress
- Find help and support
- Identify useful products to help with daily living.
Some courses are for people with dementia, some are for partners, families and carers and many are for both together. They are enjoyable and interactive learning sessions that can also provide you with the opportunity to get to know other people in similar circumstances and share experiences.
