Join us to make sure no one faces dementia alone
Alzheimer Scotland, Scotland’s leading charity for dementia and brain health, is seeking to attract individuals with the enthusiasm and commitment to help drive our strategic vision of Prevent, Care and Cure and making sure no one goes through dementia on their own. As a Co-optee to our Board of Trustees, you will make a significant contribution by helping provide the leadership and governance required to achieve our ambitious aims.
Criteria
We welcome and value new ideas and perspectives and seek to attract applications from people with diverse personal, professional, and cultural backgrounds and lived or professional experience to enrich the experience we currently have on Board. We value individuality and encourage applications from people who can offer a broad range of personal interest, insight, knowledge or experience of dementia and the valuable work we do.
Be part of a diverse and inclusive Board full of new ideas
Alzheimer Scotland is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and representative Charity. We strongly encourage, and will fully support, applicants from a broad and diverse range of backgrounds and experience. Our aim is to be truly representative and reflective of all sections of society and for each Trustee to bring their unique experience and contributions to the table. We value, respect, and encourage individuality and the vital role this plays to effective, diverse, and progressive governance, and we are committed to removing any barriers, wherever possible, to enable and encourage diverse and inclusive participation.
Your commitment
If successful, you would attend some initial Board meetings as an observer and, thereafter, would be asked to join as a Co-opted Trustee until our AGM in November 2024 when we would hope to invite you to join our Board as a Director. Until then, your contribution, ideas and input to our planning and discussions would be invaluable. Co-opted Trustees would be expected to attend Board meetings on ten occasions throughout the year, ordinarily held in Glasgow, although attendance by online platforms is equally available and accessible.
